This will be a very quick day in the life as Indi has just gone to sleep and I don’t know for how long!
The morning started at 5.30, I dozed for a bit while Indi had ‘meelkmeelks’ and a kickabout. Before long he got bored and wanted out of the bed, downstairs we go then.
I let him watch cbbeebies as I had a coffee. We watched the cats play about and meow at us for their breakfast and two hours passed before we knew it. Indi started getting niggly and squirmy so I decided to take him back up to bed. Five minutes into feeding him, he fell asleep again and we didn’t get out of bed for an hour and a half. *Mummy was very happy about this
*
Jeff has fed the cats & the dog by the time we get up and we plan what we’re going to do for the day. I have a decaf coffee and get a tooth chipped when Indi hits the mug that I’m sipping from! We need to top up our cupboards and after a phonecall find out that Jeff’s mum needs some food too. I dress Indi in his new clothes (bought a couple of days ago when I realised that nothing fitted him anymore!) and we’re on our way. A quick stop in Jeff’s mums house for her shopping list then back in the car. I sit in the back of our Fiat Seicento with Indi so when he starts getting tired & crying I can easily lean over to feed him. Must be quite a sight to the outside world but we don’t care!
Indi is fast asleep when we walk around the supermarket. Jeff & I grumble about the other shoppers who have blinkers on to all around them, I get broody seeing the pregnant women & we get out of there as quick as possible!
Jeff’s brother (Paul), wife (Andrea) & their son (William) is at his mums so we stop for a while to catch up. Will is just 8 months older than Indigo & they spend ages checking eachother out! We come away with veg from Jeff’s uncle’s allotment and promises between me & Andrea that we’ll meet up for coffee in the week (it never happens, we just never find the time!).
It’s nearly 2pm by the time we get home. Skylar goes crazy over the new doggie toy we bought her and it keeps her occupied while the shopping is put away. We have some homemade potato, leek & carrot soup (which is a triumph!) and freeze the leftovers.
Indi and I play for a bit, Jeff tidies under the stairs. The rest of the afternoon is spent feeding Indi who falls asleep on my lap.
Indi wakes up and it’s time for his bath. I have to make sure the water is lukewarm – practically cold, because if it’s any warmer than bodyheat he completely freaks out, giving me a heartattack in the process!
After splashing the bubbles and getting clean I dry him off and put on his pj’s.
We walked around the livingroom watching Skylar play and the cats scowling at her. Indi won’t sit down and relax, he’s getting sleepy again which means he could start crying any minute!
Wrapping him in our Moby hasn’t been ‘working’ for the past couple of days, I’m very sad to say, so I put him in the pram and push him back and forth. He falls asleep within ten minutes without a single cry.
It’s now 8pm. I’m watching Dr Who repeats while Indi sleeps in front of me. Every now and then I have to rock the pram when he stirs. It’s going to be difficult getting him out of there and into bed without waking him up!
Sorry this wasn’t more involved. I’m tired, not the best writer and Indi’s day seems to consist of sleep, meelkmeelks, nappy changes and some smiles and giggles inbetween. Oh, and he’s teething so most of the day he’s niggly! No teeth are coming through yet but the way he’s gnawing my fingers/shoulders/anything he can get his hands on kind of gives it away!

Ha, ha, I almost chipped a tooth on my “day in the life” too
I have a whole season of Dr Who repeats to catch up on some day. LP is like Indi, she prefers cooler baths, she’ll climb back out saying “hot, ouch” if it’s anything past tepid, which is just wonderful if I’m in there too, brrrr….
