All warm & snug!
Indi & me wore the MaM babywearing coat for the first time on Friday. I’m sick of using the pram &
Indi just wants to be held after 10 minutes in it anyway!
Friday was cold enough to wear the coat, I left the fleece neck cover thingy at home but wished I’d taken it as there was a bitter wind blowing right onto my chest and then onto Indi. Luckily he fell asleep quite quickly and I was able to position him out of the wind.
I’m going to attempt to wear it again today when we walk Sky, hoping the weather folk are wrong & we won’t have torrential rains!
I’ll be wellied up & taking an umbrella no matter what, don’t know how rain resistant the coat is yet - probably just for light showers. I’ll also have to wear my stripey hat… yay! It’s been two years since I wore it! (Last winter I was pregnant & immune to the cold!)
Indigo has started reaching for me when I go to pick him up and after he’s fed up with us playing on the floor he’ll put his arms around me like a hug! I know it’s not a hug, he’s trying to use me as a prop, but it’s still nice!
I shall post photo’s of our walk if the weather makes it possible/Jess & dad want to accompany me, just don’t laugh at my hat, or my wellies, or the ridiculous look of said hat & wellies together!
Hooray!!!
All attatchment parents who never read my blog will be happy to know that Indi chose the wrap over the pram for his nap! He’s sleeping on me now & it only took a couple of minutes for him to drop off
More good babywearing news - my MaM coat came this morning, now we have a nice snuggly place for the winter months. Sorry but I’m wishing for cold, cold weather!
Thanks to HPP for the Carnival Day on Monday, I really enjoyed reading your day-in-the-life and everyone else’s that linked to your blog ![]()
Peek-A-Boo in EllaRoo!
Here’s a photo of our new wrap, named ‘Roo’. Indigo seems to like it!

IT CAME!
(I’m a chatty girl today!)
My beautiful Ellaroo wrap has arrived! It’s so pretty, I love it & Indigo’s aldready asleep in it!
We tried a back carry earlier, nearly got it right. Little Dude decided to throw up on my neck though! Thankfully it didn’t get on my ellaroo, I wonder if baby puke is good for hair???
Will post pics as soon as I get some, am doing a huge laundry wash today though so you’ll have to wait ![]()
Heh Heh…
Little Dude is staring at the paw tattoos on my arm & trying pick & lick them off!
They kept him occupied for a few minutes in the car seat yesterday, so you see - tattoos are great!
I’ve been feeling guilty about something lately… Indigo likes to watch kids tv for about ten minutes before getting bored so I’ve been taking advantage of it by sitting him in front of the tv so I can quickly do some housework. I don’t want a baby who’s glued to the tv! *Must figure out how to do a backcarry with my new wrap that’s on its way!*
Me, my baby & my dog
It’s a bit bright but here’s a photo Dad took of us
Oh & I’m wearing my new Moby outside for the first time!

I’m A Babywearer Part 2
Me, Indi & Jeff went shopping locally yesterday. We parked close to the shops so were in view of everyone. As I was strapping Indi into my African-Kanga-fabric-Asian-inspired-carrier (or Mei Tai/MT), two women stared at me. Literally stared the whole time! I kind of smiled at which point the younger woman smiled back but didn’t look away!
It would’ve been better if they’d just come up to me with their questions but what can you do?!
On our way back to the car Jeff told me an Asian lady was checking out the MT. I didn’t see her but she was probably wondering what the hell I thought I was doing ’stealing’ two wholly different cultures and squishing them together! Haha!
Anyway, I bought some beautiful fabric that I’ll be making another MT out of… watch this space
My Moby wrap came this morning, it’s so soft and comfortable, although a little (a lot!) bit too warm for it today. I took it down to show Mum and promptly left it there
AND I wanted to wear it when I got home! Bugger!
I’ll have to wear the lotus flower MT I made to baby group tomorrow as I noticed one of the strap seams is starting to come apart - the kanga was originally going to be made into a quilt and pillow covers, I used the half made pillow covers and forgot to reinforce the seams *doh!*
So now I have a MT sewing project that I’ll do oneday. I think I’ll take my sewing machine to Mum’s and make it there, nice to have some company and a second pair of eyes to watch Indi!
I’ll be back tomorrow to update on Indi’s weight gain ![]()
I’m a Babywearer!!!
Kate from the HE group showed me how to carry Indi in my ring sling & the mei tai I made. I wore him for at least an hour walking around the shops in the mei tai pictured below, AND he fell asleep in there!
I’m so chuffed! We were able to get around easily, no bumping into stuff with a pram for us anymore ![]()
Admittedly though, my shoulders started aching towards the end - I’ll have to see if it’s just the way I had the mei tai strapped on.
I bought a Moby wrap which *should* arrive by Tuesday, the colour I chose was called Indigo!
