Happy October!
I love October! It’s officially Autumn & pointless complaining about the weather because this is how it’s meant to be.
October brings our 7 year ‘first met’ anniversary and our 4 year wedding anniversary, Indi will be half a year old and it’s the month that he will try solid foods for the first time (those cake crumbs don’t count!), three of our rescued cats came to us 4 years ago this month - Gaia from the RSPCA, sibling Aztec & Maya out of a skip from the recycling company I used to work for, and Halloween/Samhain - my favourite calender holiday!
Indigo seems very eager to try food as you can see from the photo below, so very eager that we had to… see second photo below! He’s grabby at everything now and his grasp is excellent. Indi’s first tooth is visable now when he smiles and laughs and just below the surface we can see his second one ready to break through.
If my blogging seems to slow down a bit, the reason may be because I’m doing the Vegan Month of Food thing over on my other blog. I’m going to try to do it five days a week but all depends on what kind of day Indi is having. I’ve got most of it planned anyway so it’s just a case of cooking, photographing and writing… that’s all!
Anyway, must dash - have to get Indi’s bath ready and the room has to be warmed before he wakes up!

Good news!
Indigo has cut his first tooth!
He was gnawing on my chin yesterday afternoon so I offered him my knuckle & tada! There it was! I must admit to having a teary second or two - my baby’s growing up! He won’t be a baby for long 
So I filled in the first tooth in his baby book and wrote down the date.
He’s sitting, cutting his first tooth, will be trying finger foods next month… & he still hasn’t rolled over! Granted, any floor time he gets is now spent in a sitting position and when we’re holding him he loves standing… that’ll be next - forget crawling, he wants to walk!
Anyway, I’ve got a ton of things to do before going to Mum’s. Bye for now!

I can’t write too much at the moment, Indi’s not a very happy boy right now. We’re almost positive that he has a tooth coming through. He was fine this morning when my sister was here but later in the afternoon and this evening he has been so angry and upset. He’s jamming everything and anything into his mouth, it took me ages to get him off to sleep, poor baby.
We’ve been redecorating the living room today, well Jeff has! I’ve pitched in when Indi’s been asleep. I’ll post up before and after photo’s when I have a chance. (Have put the photos on my other blog)

Naughty mummy & daddy!
As you can see from this (bad) photo of Indi taken on my phone, we gave him a tiny bit of cake! It was homemade by me so I knew all the ingredients - just made sure he didn’t have any raisins! I’d like to say he loved it & asked for more but the look on his face in the photo is pretty much what he thought of it!
He won’t be getting anymore until we start baby led weaning on his six-month birthday.
He also saw ponies for the first time yesterday, and wasn’t fazed by them in the slightest. He preferred to watch the dogs!
We went shopping to Abergavenny over the weekend. Started in the pram because Indi was sleeping in the carseat. He woke up after 15 minutes, we took the pram back to the car and carried him instead. He did not want to be wrapped so me & Jeff took it in turns to carry him! After a while he started getting tired again, and then screamy tired! I decided to take him to the car while Jeff finished the shopping. As I was walking back I put Indi in the cradle hold just to give my shoulders a break and he fell asleep! He has never liked that position before! I was so happy and turned back to find Jeff. Granted, after a while my arms started to burn but I loved holding him that way. As usual there were the oblivious minority who walked in to my path, nearly bumping in to me… the same oblivious minority when I was pregnant and when I wear Indi. The pram comes in handy for getting through crowds sometimes.
Anyway, I’m duel-blogging right now. Indi has just fallen asleep and Sky’s waiting for her walk.
Indi’s First Cold :(
Indi’s caught his first cold
He slept very poorly last night and his breathing was terrible, nose is all blocked and snuffly. He’s not being his usual chirpy self, is being quite miserable nearly all the time he’s awake. I got about 2 and a half hours sleep last night so I asked Jeff to look after Indi while I had 2 hours this morning, it’s the first time since Indi was 3 weeks old that I’ve slept without him! Didn’t like it!
He’s sleeping in the pram again right now, we’ve been shopping & that was good for us both as we’ve only been out once all week thanks to the torrential rains! Poor old Skylar didn’t even want to go out in the garden!
In other news… I’ve started another blog Pick, Cook & Brew. It’s a non-baby blog, although Indi is bound to be mentioned most of the time! It’s going to be about food, Veganism, frugal living, country dreaming and an overall attempt at self-sufficiency. Don’t expect too much yet though, it’s brand spanking new!

Proper laugh!
He’s been nearly chuckling all day yesterday & today when tickled him but just ten mins ago Jeff had Indi in his arms and was running at our cat Rory who was meowing. Indi actually laughed at Rory! It was so cute!
AND THEN! We had Indi ’standing’ on the kitchen counter and he walked! Well, ok, not walked exactly but stepped his feet out in turn as though he was walking!
That’s all I can write for now as he’s getting tired and cranky so off to bed we go!
Indi’s First…
Car boot sale! And my first time selling at one!
To those who might not know what a car boot sale is, it is like a yard sale but is usually held in a field with loads of other people selling their unwanted items from their car boot. Indigo barely cried while we were there, he slept for most of it (lucky little so and so - woke me up at 3.30 and I haven’t slept since!)
Anyway, I got rid of quite a few things and made £40! Yay! With that money I’m going to give half to Jeff (because half of what I sold was his) and the rest I shall buy fabric so I can start my Work At Home Mum business thing. I’m in the process of designing a baby carrier and would like to think of another craft I can make to sell but my head can’t think of anything else yet. Mum is going to teach me how to do alterations so I can earn a bit of money that way.
I’ve been having fun looking at website design and marketing ideas. My little WAHM business thing is called Patchouli Crafts - it’s a name I’ve used for over 5 years!
I doubt I’ll get much profit but a little is better than nothing at all.
