We awoke on the Solstice to a thick covering of unexpected snow.
Scruntiny of train timetables and service reports ensued and after breakfast we all got wrapped up for the cold to walk Jeff to the station.

The slow walk back home was a lot of fun for Indi. He played around in the snow while I snapped away.

Standing on a bench completely hidden by snow

Really getting into a bit of snow throwing!

Taking Sky for a walk later on

One day later & it’s still difficult to travel. No more snow fell but what was left turned to ice.
Today shall be spent doing a little housework, wrapping presents, playing and crafting.

One worn out little boy from Christmas shopping sleeps on the train.

Nearly home...

View of Caerphilly Castle from the train.
LOL! If you click on the photo of the castle and zoom in you can see the Tardis on top of one of the towers! Jeff just alerted me to this & I didn’t believe him – had to google it, & it’s true!
(I promise next Wordless Wednesday will be less wordy!)

My first entry to the i ♥ faces contest!
And of course it had to be ‘Pets only’! I can’t tell you how long it took to choose which photo to use, we have literally hundreds. I chose this one of Skylar, it was taken on a very cold February day, on a deserted beach and I was seven months pregnant (for more photos of that half hour we spent at the beach scroll down past my i ♥ faces entry) (All photos can be enlarged by clicking on them)

For more wonderful photos of very talented people’s pet go on over to the i ♥ faces blog.

Here are some more of the photo’s we took that day…

Skylar waiting patiently for Jeff to throw her ball.

I hated this photo at the time, felt so scruffy at this stage of my pregnancy - just look how far my top rode up!

I love this photo, it's been my desktop image many times.

A couple of rows crocheting my bag, a cup of sweet tea in my new spotty mug and The Hogfather on DVD while my little boy sleeps blissfully.
There’s only 8 rows left to do on the main body of my bag, then comes the edging and handles. I think I might line it with a red spot on white fabric I have in my stash, am rather liking polka dots right now!
The Hogswatch DVD was bought for me by Jeff last year but this is the first time I’ve been able to get around to watching it all the way through. Might make it an annual thing as I quite enjoyed it but can only watch it at this time of year.

I took the landscape picture above yesterday as we were driving home from Hay. The sun was so low in the sky all day, I’m so glad it was out and keeping rain clouds away! Blinking cold though!
Happy Friday all, enjoy your weekend!

Just found this lovely photography blog where you can enter your photos’ into themed contests. I thought it give me the push & inspire me to start snapping photos again.
Missed out on this week’s contest so I’ll take as many photo’s as I can over the next few days and hopefully I’ll find one that will match next weeks theme.
I won’t enter to win any contests but it will be a lot of fun at any rate!

One cold ladybird in our garden
Indi & I went to a toddler group this morning called ‘Music & Mayhem’. It’s only for an hour but he absolutely adores going. There’s lots of singing and running about. Indi’s favourite parts are going under the huge ‘parachute’ and the bubbles at the end.
He was asking for bubbles constantly today, and got so excited when L started up the machine. All the other toddlers were equally as excited but they might as well have been invisible as far as Indi was concerned! Even when one overzealous child decided to shout in his face it didn’t faze him, he was fixated on the bubbles.
Guess what will be in his Christmas stocking this year!
By the time we got home, Indi was fast asleep and putting him to bed was easy.
Normally I’d be picking up my hook and crocheting away right now but our morning out left housework to be done. So if I get off the laptop I might actually get enough of it done to warrant a sit down and a chance to make some hearts…

Indi and I took my sister to Hay on Wye last Wednesday. It was a beautifully sunny day and we spent it browsing the bookshops and other curiousity shops.
Indi was happy up there, especially as I left the pushchair in the car and we carried him in our arms alternating when our arms got too painful!
He sat on the childrens chair in my favourite Hay book shop (I can’t recall the name right now!)

and picked flowers from the grounds of the Castle Bookshop!

And he slept in the car the whole way home!
